What Causes Difficulty In Locating A Hernia In Groin Region?

I had to go to the ER the last week because I was experiencing pain in my groin area, and they determined I had a hernia. When I saw the referral doctor the next day, he could not locate the hernia and said he could do surgery and go look for it, or we could wait until it gets worse and I come back. Well waiting for it to get worse is very difficult and uncomfortable, and very hard performing my job. Is this a common thing, not being able to locate the hernia after a day or two of relaxing? Should I wait for it to get worse or should I get another opinion? Going in and looking for it just didn t sound like something I wanted..

Hi,
It seems that you might be having reducible direct inguinal hernia giving this problem.
Hernia comes out through lax inguinal ring and while lying down it goes inside when it is difficult to have any idea about hernia.
If this is the position, nothing to worry wait till it comes out.
If it is strangulated then it can create the problem.
Afterwards consult surgeon and get examined.
Avoid constipation and lifting heavy weight.
Ok and take care.
