What Causes Difficulty In Losing Weight?

I am a 60 year old female. 5' foot 8". 300 pounds. Usually in good health. Rarely get sick.
Have tried to eat healthy but can't lose weight. Lately always tired and poop more often.
Stool is pencil thin. Light brown in color and no sign if blood. Work a full time job but now
come home from work and want to go right to bed. Haven't called in sick for over three years.
Just want to know I am O.K.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I appreciate your health concern, pencil stools may be seen in if opening of anus is narrowed with hemorrhoids or polyps or stricture etc.

But don't worry just once you get colonoscopy to confirm the cause.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol, avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.

Eat green leafy vegetables, exercise regularly, drink plenty of water.

Avoid dairy products and gluten contain food.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
