My husband has difficulty making it to the restroom when he has to urinate. He describes it as having to go really really bad all of a sudden and has to sprint to the bathroom to avoid an accident. He claims it is not painful or extremely frequent so I know I can rule out a UTI, can you help?
Difficulty in passing urine may be due to many causes like enlarged prostate,UTI,calculus in genito-urinary tract etc. Your husband need proper clinical examination and investigations. Investigations include routine hemogram, random blood sugar, renal function test, urine RE/ME,ultrasound of abdomen. Ultrasound is very helpful and it can exclude many causes. Further medicines and investigations depend upon above findings.
