What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing Food ?

I am 38 year old healthy man from Kerala, India. I am suffering from mild food swallowing problem for the last 20 years. That is whenever I take some solid/semi solid food I find it difficult to swallow. At times I force to push the food down by taking water and forcibly trying to gulp it down which aggravates the problem. I feel as if the food getting stuck just below my throat. Another problem is Cud Chewing . Solid food that is not properly chewed or digested (like apple, ground nuts etc), comes back after say about 2 hours. Otherwise I am perfectly healthy, I am not under any medication nor have I been. I am well built, 170 cms tall and 75 Kgs of weight. Two weeks back I have consulted a Gastroenterologist and on his advice I am taking Rabeprazol Sodium 20 mg tablets twice a day before food and Levosulpride Sustained Release 75 mg Tab OD. This along with changed food routines have shown some positive effect. Doctor has adviced me to continue medication for another 4 weeks. Is it advisable. Biju
