What Causes Difficulty To Stand/walk Even After Steel Rod Was Placed?

I m 70 yrs old. Three yrs back I was worshipping God as usual but when I tried to get up, I couldn't. I went to the local doctor for check up.. He advised for operation and set steel rod inside my leg and told that within 2 to 3 months I will be able to run.. Till now I m unable to even stand on my foot. I can move my feet up and down. So what to do and can I stand and walk again? I think steel rod might had set improperly. Please advice.

It would be better if you can send your X ray images. Than i can be sure if you are having problem with rods or bone is not healing. If you are saying since 3 years after surgery no weight bearing is possible than it looks to be a serious issue.
