What Causes Discomfort After Eating Food?

Lately I have experienced discomfort every time I eat. I have high blood pressure controlled with medication and I also have a hiatal hernia. My blood pressure has been dipping lower mid-day recently. My BMI is 43%. Should I be concerned about a heart condition?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Discomfort after eating may be due to gastritis, Irritable Bowel syndrome, infection or inflammatory bowel problems etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking and caffeinated drinks. Take soft diet and do regular exercises. If symptoms do not improve, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
