Hi,

Post viral infection coughing is very pretty common symptom if this was the respiratory symptoms viral infection, because of coughing action muscle goes in state of contraction and that may cause the pain but it may not be swelling. And if it is the swelling then that may not be due to coughing but it may be due to something else, it might be nonspecific, for the pain Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg can be tried and for cough any expectorant can be used but it may not need any treatment it is the self limiting.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain Shaikh
