What Causes Discomfort In The Hip And Upper Buttock In The Elderly?

Hello! I am a 75 year old female with no major health issues. For the past 6 months I have had hip and upper butt discomfort;find it difficult to step up into my car and also in and out of my bathtub. It s more discomfort than pain. I take atelonol and losartan for a long time...Thank you for your help...Diane

Hello,
You may have developed some arthritis in the hip. If it is not too uncomfortable you may be able to treat it with some glucosamine, a supplement to build up cartilage. If the pain gets worse then see a doctor for exam and possibly an xray
