Sir, I have irritation right from the throat to the stomach whenever I take warm food for the past 6 months. I Also for the past several years, if I ate spicy food or fruits, I have to go for stools after sometime. There is heaviness, pricking pain in the stomach and bad odour from the mouth. This condition lasts for several hours. Please offer your esteemed opinion. I live in Trichy though at present I am in Bangalore. I will be back home after a month when I would meet you personally.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The given symptoms are indicative of (GERD) gastroesophageal reflux disease and it is happening due to hyperacidity.

It can be well managed with any PPI agent like Omeprazole but it has to be taken for a long time.

It is better to see the gastroenterologist for further advise and final diagnosis.

Avoid taking spicy food, coffee, alcohol, and smoking.

Hope I have answered your query, let me know for further assistance.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain,
