What Causes Distension Of Abdomen After Stomach Removal?
Last May I had 1/3 of stomach removed because of an ulcer that coulnt be cured. I had a rough time due to a few infections after, Everything then was great for about 2 months but then my stomach started to get large , I look about 7 months pregnant? I can t get any answers, Help
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history removal of one third of stomach for incurable ulcer, had few infections and had rough time, was alright for two months but then the stomach started to get large like 7 months pregnant, can no get any answers... With the history you have provided this is obviously intestinal obstruction unless proved otherwise. I would advise you the following: Clinical evaluation and examination by a General Surgeon. Ultrasonography of the whole abdomen. X-ray of the abdomen in standing position followed by contrast enhanced CT scan if there is no absolute obstruction to get the correct diagnosis. Surgical interventions as per the findings. Avoid all the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance the problem.
