What Causes Dizziness Along With Abdominal Cramps?

Hi, I have been having blood (mostly bright red) & dark red blood clots in my stool for a while now but the amount has been increasing & today I feel very weak & alittle dizzy. Also have bad stomach cramps. I ve had an Endoscopy not too long ago - (about 6 months ago) & have diverticulosis, IBS, chronic constipation, & hemoroids. I just assumed it was my hemoroids that were bleeding but as it s getting worse, I am starting to worry a bit. My family has a history of colon cancer so you can understand my concern. If you can advise me as to what to do (I hate to go to the ER if it s not necessary as I have been there a few times in the past year) & don t want to go there if they can t do anything for me.. :(. Noted the history and understood your concerns.
I can understand that you are disabled female of 54 years with numerous health conditions, bleeding per-rectum of fresh and clotted blood is a serious matter since your colonoscopy showed diverticulosis, IBS and hemorrhoids.
I would advise you the following in such a situation that you have explained.
Anyways, it is best to get an appointment with a General Surgeon or a Gastroenterologist to get a per-rectal examination and ano-proctoscopy to see for any bleeding hemorrhoids, ulcer or so and this can be done asap. Get an appointment for colonoscopy so that cancer of the large bowel is confirmed or ruled out.
Further management depends upon the actual findings.
Also get stool tested.
Blood tests for seeing the hemoglobin and iron levels which may need replacements since you are loosing blood and may also need blood transfusion as you are having dizziness indicating severe anemia.
