What Causes Dizziness And Bloating After Taking Prednisone?

My regular doctor for my lungs was out of town and I went to his partner for a little congestion. He put me on 20 gr of prednisone twice a day for 7 days without tapering off. Now I fee terrible since I have been off for 2 days. I feel dizzy, bloated and gained over 10 pound, lightheaded, very weak. Is this a side effect. My regular doctor usually gave me 5 grains with a tapering off and I never had any effects.

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms. They are most likely related to the prednisone and the absence of tapering off. This would gradually get resolved over the next days as you didn't take the drug for long. Next time, ask a doctor if something is necessary especially when you have been doing so before. Maybe he forgot.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for suing our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
