What Causes Dizziness And Blood In Stools?

I have IBD but have not had any problems with it in well over a year. For the past several days I have had a pain in my left side which is tender to touch and frequent bowel movements which often contain bright red blood and some clots. I have also had an increase in gas. Today, when passing stools or gas I have felt light headed, almost dizzy just after. I don't remember this happening with any of my past flare ups or bouts but was not sure if it is normal for my circumstance.
