What Causes Dizziness And Fainting While On Medication For Swollen Leg?

I have been having terrible swelling in my ankles feet and legs even so bad I can t wear my shoes only flip flops. This has been going on for over four weeks. I went to the doctor over ten days ago and was prescribed diaretics which seem to help but today I got dizzy and nearly fainted. Can you tell me is this something serious or is it down to circulation problems due to me being overweight? Thanks

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you were having terrible swelling on my ankle feet and legs. you were prescribed diuretics for this Swelling and it reduced . But you got dizzy today and nearly fainted.This can be due to fall in blood pressure due to diuretics as they cause hypo-tension. Keep a watch on blood pressure while on diuretics.You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful.
