What Causes Dizziness And Headaches In Old Age?

My 96 yr old grandmother, History AF,on Warfarin, Aprinox and Digoxin. Glaucoma diagnosed recently. Has been complaining of dizziness for over 3 years. Ears clear, Stemitil has not helped. Now having headaches daily, not helped by Panadol. I need some help please as Doctors are telling her it's her age.

There are many causes for Dizziness, from simple and easily treatable causes to serious causes .

Simple causes are :

1. Abnormalities in BP : Both high and low BP can cause dizziness.
2. Abnormalities in Blood sugars : Both high and low Blood sugars can cause dizziness.

3. Abnormalities in blood sodium levels.
4. Low Hemoglobin ( Anemia )
5. Inner Ear problems .

Some serious problems are :

1. Heart Problems
2: Brain problem

In your grandmother's case , AF is one possible cause of Dizziness . So kindly get her EKG and a cardiac evaluation done.

Also get her Haemoglobin , Serum Sodium levels checked.
