What Causes Dizziness And Nausea After Head Injury?
While I was putting groceries away, I bent down to the refrigerator and when I came up, hit my head on the freezer door really hard. I have fallen asleep since then but upon awaking my stomach is uneasy and I feel nauseated, my head really hurts and when I lay down I get dizzy spells. Is this normal?
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Mild head injuries often cause concussions. A concussion is defined as physiologic injury to the brain without any evidence of structural alteration. As long as you are awake (conscious) and with no deep cuts, it's unlikely there will be any serious damage. Mild head injury may cause headache, mild dizziness, blurred vision, and nausea. If these symptoms get significantly worse or if there are other, more serious symptoms like persistent emesis, severe headache, episode of seizures, or bleeding/discharge from ear or nose, then go straight to the accident and emergency (A&E) department of your nearest hospital. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
