What Causes Dizziness In The Morning?

For the last two days I have had bed spins in the morning when I turn my head. When I get up I am fine until i reach down to pick something up. Then I feel like I will fall because the room is spinning. Fine for the rest of the day about 1/2 hour later. I am almost 60. In ok shape. Go to the gym 1-2 times a week. Need to go more. 5 10 197 pounds. Weighed 168 when I was 22. I am taking lisinopril for HBP. Only 10 milligrams a day. Yesterday when this happened I took my bp and it was 149/79. Kind of an unusual reading for me. Usually don t have that high a first number with the second that low.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be suffering from acute BPPV. Posterior semi circular canal dysfunction may lead to bending may cause vertigo. Other possibilities like infection, hypotension or balance problems or sensory ataxia etc. Avoid high risk activities, use tablet vertin 16 mg thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
