I am seeking your opinion. I have experienced on and off skipping heart beats for a number of years. For the last two months, they have been more frequent and lasted longer. My heart skips a beat after every two beats to every 6 or 7 beats. This lasts for a whole day or minutes or hours at a time. The beats skip while I am sitting or standing. If I lie down, they immediately get normal—that is no skipped beat. Skipped beats reappear if I sit up or stand up. While experiencing skipped beats, I feel lightheaded and dizzy, most of the time but not always. I had Holter monitor 3 years ago and one just two weeks ago. Both showed skipped heart beats. My cardiologist’s diagnosis is PVCs and his advice is not to worry about it. He is a good and caring doctor. However, this issue is unnerving and affecting my life style. Lightheadedness and dizziness are aggravating and unnerving. I take medication, including metoprolol for high blood pressure. I request your opinion and possible suggestions. Thank you.
