What Causes Dizziness While On Norvasc And Lopressor?

Hi, I am a old bypass & stent heart patient & have been put on 2 new meds ( Norvasc & Lopressor). Since taking them i have been having lightheadedness. Thinking it could be from the Lopressor, I tried taking it at bedtime but had frequent bathroom trips, so I stopped it. The lightheadedness is still a problem, so I am wandering if it could be from the Norvasc. I am a snowbird & my doctors are in Pa.. I intend to see them when I get back home but til then, what do you think about the lightheadedness

Hi,

I understand your concern.

Having lightheadedness is suggesting low blood pressure (bp). After reviewing the medications you are currently taking, Norvasc (amlodipine) is a calcium channel blocker. It helps reducing high bp. In some cases, when bp gets reduced quickly or more than normal range, lightheadedness will appear.

I advise to measure your bp, record the results to pass to your caring doctor in order to change dose or therapy.

Hope this helps.
