I have had knee inflammation three times in the past several months. No injury. Doc drained off fluid and injected with cortisone twice and had me on antibiotics. The third time he found staph. I went to an orthopedic doc who slit the knee, drained off the infection, rinsed with syringes of saline, and packed with a wick. Also on an antibiotic. Now, a week later, the antibiotic is done, but an increasing amount of yellow pus is draining off the incision site daily while the wick remains. Is this a recurrence of staph? I have a follow up appointment in a week.
