Hi I have been having a dull ache in my neck that has been getting progressively worse (8 hrs) the dull pain comes in waves and is getting stronger (pain level)...every 52 seconds or so....it is located in one area...left side upper neck area....around the back of the ear (soft tissue area) the only other symptom I am experiencing is a bit of a sick stomach, as of late....please advise. General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are more consistent with conditions like cervical spondylitis.
As a first line management you can take drugs like gabapentin for pain relief.
In severe cases better to consult a spine surgeon and plan for an MRI neck.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
