What Causes Dull Throbbing Pain In Left Side Of Chest?

I am a 16 year old male, 175lbs and 5`11. I'm involved in sports and there is a dull throbbing pain on the left side of my chest in my heart area. It has been there for several days and comes and goes randomly. I have no shortness of breath and the pain doesn't spread or get worse with breathing. Any ideas?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Throbbing chest pain is mostly due to musculoskeletal cause.
But better to rule out cardiac cause first because left sided chest pain is the common presenting complain in heart diseases.
So get done ecg and 2d echo first.
If both are normal than no need to worry for cardiac diseases.
Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more.
So avoid strenuous exercise and heavyweight lifting. Avoid movements causing pain. Avoid bad postures in sleep. Start painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs. Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
