Hi, my period finished 8 days ago (NYE) and today I woke up from pain in my tummy, with the urge to go to the toilet. Went to the toilet, but only gases came out, as well as very dark brown blood, quite a bit, like on a normal period, but darker than a prriod. My husband and I are trying for a baby and I have been off the pill for over 4 years. (3 years no partner and married just over a year).
Hello, Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. In the current scenario, this discharge seems to be corresponding with your ovulation period presuming that you have regular 28-30 day cycles. Yet, I would also ask you to exclude any infection of the bowel and bladder, which can also cause such spotting. If negative, and if the spotting persists, please see your health care provider for further evaluation. You would then need a local examination to exclude local causes like erosion, polyps etc., sonogram of the pelvis preferably in the trans-vaginal route to know the status of the pelvic organs and urinalysis. Further management can be planned accordingly. Hope this helps.
