General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Edema around the ankle seemed to be due the blood pressure lowering medicine amlodipine.

However pain in the ankle and the plantar aspects of both the soles could be due to neuritis or ligamentous strain for which you are advised to consult your doctor for proper clinical examination and its appropriate treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
