What Causes Egg Yolk Like Discharge While Urinating?

3 yr old female has urine that has no smell, yet mucus like discharge that looks like egg yolks or kind of like if toilet paper sits in water for a long time: white and sort of lumpy. Child urinated in panties and lots of jelly like like residue left, so i scooped and placed in ziplock bag, took to dr.s office. Dr did not look under microscope, prescribed cefnidir. No fever, less frequency in urinating. Pls guide. Thanks

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, your child is passing urine which is yolk like means it is thick white in appearance, this is suggestive of urinary tract infection or high phosphate levels in urine. I suggest you to do urine routine microscopy and culture test to look for infection in child. Further treatment will depend on above reports. Your doctor has also started antibiotic so he is also thinking of urinary tract infection. If you have already done it then revert back with reports. Take care.
