What Causes Elevated CRP Levels?

my child has an elevated CRP (normal range 0-5) hers is 105. She is normal weight. she has an innocent heart murmur. she has had a third blood test today (for cultures). What causes elevated CRP, and why is it a mystery as to what CRP directly relates to? or does it relate only directly to heart?

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

CRP is sign of inflammation in body and its elevation may suggest certain infections in organism which may or may not be related to heart disorders. You should do some other lab and other tests to look for infections, including lung and urinary infections.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
