What Causes Elevated Bilirubin And Low DHEA?

Helllo, my daughter, 21 yrs old, was informed on a recent blood test that her bilirubin was elevated, her LDL cholesterol was 143 and her DHEA-so4 was 4.76 (very low). In her lifetime, she has been suspected of having Gilberts Syndrome and PCOS. What is your assessment of the situation? We really need to know where to begin and if any of these things are interrelated.

hi thanks for your query.

these lab abnormalities can be rightly correlated to Gilberts syndrome and PCOD.

i suggest she has an ultrasound of the liver and ovaries.

bile excreation studies can be helpful in rightly assessing the condition.

begin your approach with consulltation of gastroenterologist followed by gynecologist.

thank you.
