Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 16 year son had a CT scan and was diagnosed with enlarged glands around his bowel. His family Dr referred him to a gastroenterologist, but I have yet to hear back with an appt time. My son seems to be getting worse every day....he has lost weight, he s in constant pain, has no appetite and has missed over three months of school. What should I expect from the appt with the gastroenterologist? I have celiac and I am wondering if my son could have inherited this and this may be the cause of his problems. I am also wondering if it could be an infection and, if so, would it be lasting this long(since October)....should I insist on antibiotics?
Why are you taking so long! I would suggest you visit a Gastroenterologist as soon as possible. Let him do his job why you are stuck with it and this delay will only worsen the problem of your kid!
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ajaygupta009, General & Family Physician
