Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My granddaughter, 12 yrs old, has an enlarged thyroid and they took tests for this and sent it to the Mao Clinic. They also said her electrolytes were off. Before she went to the dr. today she was complaining of her chest hurting and the pain going up her left arm. And will be going to a cardiologist next week for tests. Is there any reason to think the worst or are these problems that can be treated easily?
The most common cause for an enlarged thyroid is hashimoto thyroiditis which an easily treatable condition. The chest symptoms could be directly related to the enlarged thyroid or electrolyte disturbance
Please get back to me with the test reports so that I can help you better
