What Causes Epigastric Pain And Stomach Bloating?

I am 54, 170 lbs, back surgeries that I am on pain meds for every day. One of the meds is Ibuprofen. I ve stopped the Ibuprofen for the last 2 days. For the last three days I ve been having severe epigastric pain, midline, with gas, smelly, soft yellow stools, bloating, don t want to eat. More pain after I eat. It hurts to put pressure on my stomach area. I am under a lot of stress this week. Can all this be caused by stress or should I be going to the doctor? Thanks, Gwen

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Stress can be related to the gastrointestinal symptoms that you are feeling. I suggest using to avoid Ibuprofen which can trigger the symptoms. I also suggest to use daily probiotics and eat a healthy diet. If the symptoms continue, you should see your doctor for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
