What Causes Esophageal Stricture?

I was diagnosed with gastric antral erosion and a mid-esophogal stricture today, after endoscopy. My doctor did not prescribe any medication and I still have severe stomach pain, gas, and pain in my chest from the espphogas. I was scheduled for a CT scan to see what is causing the esophogal stricture. Question: What could be causing this? Am I dealing with 2 separate issues? And why didn't my doctor prescribe any medication?

Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query in details .

* Possible causes of esophageal stricture

- chronic reflux of stomach acid - inflammatory condition of the
esophagus - past history of acid burns - malignancies .

* The issues can be separate or not , needs detailed case evaluation .

* The doctor must have thought to take you to final diagnosis with CT
rather than giving symptomatic relief , so didn`t prescribe you medicines

Hope this will help to clear your doubt .
Wishing you fine recovery .

Regards .
