What Causes Esophagus To Hurt?

Hi. I had a 270 degree (partial) fundoplication 2 yrs ago. I overate a couple of weeks ago & since then, my esophagus has sort of hurt. The pain is fairly dull but where the surgery was done. Could I have damaged the fundoplication? What should I do? (besides eat less) Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per my surgical experience, partial overeating will not hurt a fundoplication area after 2 years as already there is healing and fibrotic scarring has been taken place.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
