What Causes Excessive Bleeding On Stopping Birth Control Pills?
I stopped taking my birth control in the middle of the pack because I realized I was having the same effects as the past three birth controls I have tried. I started my period the exact day my cycle was supposed to but I m still bleeding two weeks after the last day should have been. My cramps are terrible and I feel tired all of the time. The bleeding isn t normal. It s a dark brown, mucus like, bleeding with occasionally light pink mixed in. I went to my regular doctor when I started the symptoms and he told me it was normal but I don t think it is.. How do I make it stop?
Your symptoms despite birth control pills appear mostly to be due to myoma in your uterus. Such tumors do cause severe pain in abdomen and heavy and/or prolonged bleeding even with the use of oral birth control pills. The other condition causing such pain could be endometriosis, that is presence of endometrium somewhere outside the uterine cavity. Endometrium is uterine lining.
However, it would not cause continuous bleeding like you are having. Please go for ultrasonography which will help you diagnose the underlying cause. It is definite that this is not a normal type of bleeding. Please report to your gynaecologist. I hope you will take the appropriate step.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
