What Causes Excessive Mucus From Throat After A Tonsillectomy?

I am a 17 year old female. I am 6 days post op from a tonsillectomy. Feeling a little sore but pretty good. Today I have allot of mucus coming up out of my throat. No blood. Scabs are still there. I haven't been eating a ton of ice cream or dairy. Is there a reason for it or is it just another step in recovery?

Hello,
For the lot of mucus you need to gargle your throat with betadine antiseptic germicidal gargle , and plain saline gargles , which i hope you might have been advised.
6 th post operative day the healing must be there and the scabs will go within a few days.
You could start with soft non spicy diet , only milk or dairy products will not help in getting the scabs off.
Soft diet should be started. and gargles to be continued.
In doubt do reply
