What Causes Excessive Sleepiness After A Heart Valve Replacement Surgery?

my brother had his aorta valve replace in mid-April, he has been in rehab since. Ihe is 265 lbs. and has only one good leg, but has live for 20 years on crutches fine. now he want to stand up and use crutches but nursing home will not let him and of course he can not stand by his self. Now they want him to signup for life stay at home . He NOW spleeps most of my visits. I worry his is drugge but he must be able to use his crutches to come to my house. in surgery the docs cut one rib on lright and added a metal plate so he could use his crutchs again. how long must he wait to try his crutches after surgery
