What Causes Excessive Sleepiness And Dry Skin While On Synthroid?
I am now taking 150mcg of synthroid after surgery for thyroid CA. This keeps my TSH low enough to satisfy by MD. I nod off easily, have dry skin and cold hands and feet I would like to take a small dose of t3 and cut back on t4. What would be my combined dose of t4 and t3?

The first thing to do is to vary the dose of the synthroid. There is quite a range of dose of synthroid that gets the lab numbers to be fine. WIthin this range there is quite a variation on how it makes one feel. Signs of too little would be feeling cold, no energy, weight gain, constipation. The total t3 and the free t4 tests might add to knowing what to do, but the first thing generally tried is varying the synthroid in dose and type of thyroid medicine.
