What Causes Excessive Sleepiness During The Day?

I sleep 8-9 hours at night and rest well. The following day I am so sleepy it is difficult to say awake. This lasts all day until bedtime around 10:00 PM. I am not taking any drugs that could cause this. Is there a specialist that I should see ? I welcome any advice.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Feeling sleepy during day could be due to lack of energy in your body.
Kindly do the following to keep yourself awake during the day.
1. Get up early in the morning and go for brisk walk or jog for 20 minutes.
2. Following walking or jogging, do mild stretching exercises for 20 minutes.
3. Drink a glass of warm water with honey, ginger and lemon added to it.
4. Take bath in warm water.
5. Drink stimulant beverages like hot coffee and hot chocolate during the day for about 2 to 3 times.
6. Supplement yourself with protein and iron in the form of medications regularly.
7. Eat foods rich in iron and proteins. Strictly avoid junk foods.
8. Drink a glass of warm milk at bedtime before you sleep.
By adopting to above measures, you should be able to overcome the problem comfortably.
