What Causes Fatigue And Brain Fog While Suffering From High Cholesterol?

My latest total cholesterol reading was 235.I have been taking statins for years and the total remains above what is ideal,LDL is also elevated, triglyerides usually low. Doctor recently switched my zocor for Crestor and I m experiencing mental fog, instability and great fatigue.I want to get off drugs completely. Diet is not the typical American fast food diet, I take supplements. Can I just stop the statins safely? I m 81, never had chest pains, cardiograms normal, slight aortic stenosis, get breathless on walking uphill and climbing stairs. My father, a skinny little guy always had high cholesterol, had his first heart attack in his early 80 s and died at 83. He was never on statins. Even if rosuvastatin brings down the numbers, the way I m feeling, it s takine all the oomph out of me.
