What Causes Fatigue And Excessive Sleepiness While On Melatonin?

I am taking 5mg Melatonin nightly but during day am tired/sleepy. I have feelings of lack of confidence/ wondering if I have beginning dementia. I am 79 years old and in very good health...just don t sleep well and I am a widow. Am thinking Melatonin may be causing anxious feeling. Any comment? My Doctor advises against Tylenol PM as may cause Alzheimer s. Don t need that!

It would have better had you mentioned about the duration of taking these Medicines.Insomia is very common in old age but it is not advised to take melatonin for a long time.I would advise to stop these medicines and consult your family doctor.You definitely don't have any dementia/Alzeimer disease.
