I first got very tired and sleepy for 3 days with a headache. I then started having a very severe headache. My throat, specially the left hand side started hurting very badly. One section of it felt very tender and when I swallowed, it tasted bitter. I started developing a very bad earache and started having difficulty swallowing. On the 5th day, my difficulty swallowing increase and started having pulsating sharp paid radiating from my outer ear to the inner ear drum. I went to the doctor and I started taking a high dose amoxicilan and ibuprofin. My pain increased severely during the next 2 days with sharp electrical pain radiating from throat to ears and from head to ears and from outer ear to inner ear. My throat was hurting so badly I could barely eat or swallow. I went to the urgent care and they gave me a shot of rocephin and depromedro and torrodor. I felt better for a few hours but then the pain started again with sharp stinging pain radiating from throat, mandibula and head. I continued taking amoxicilan and ibuprofin. I went to the doctor and he gave me blood work which came normal. He took the scope and looked down my nose and throat and saw it swollen and very raw red. Doctor gave me a shot of rocephin, depromedro and torrodor. He also prescribed zithromax and cortizone, which I will start tomorrow. I continue taking a high dose amoxicilan and high dose ibuprofin with pepcid to help with pain. I have a hard time eating and swallowing and have loss of appetite and nausea. Sharp pains come and go through my ears, head and throat. Second Doctor told me it could be a siloenitis (stone in the saliva gland or maybe strap throat. Strap throat strip came out of very light pink thin line but I had taken antibiotics for 2 days at the time of the test. Its being three doctors and 8 days of being very sick and still I dont seem to be improving. The 3rd doctor said it could be viral too but not sure what it could be. I was in mexico about a week before symptoms started.
