What Causes Fever And Cough After Taking Ciprofloxacin Hcl?
My husband has a kidney disease that has been in remission....he has come down with a terrible cough. His Dr had prescribed a med called ciprofloxacin hcl if he became sick while on a recent cruise. He now has a fever of 101.7 has been up and down all day...can he take Tylenol to help with the fever?

Hello. I have gone through your question. Yes you can give him tylenol(acetaminiphen) probably not more than twice a day for fever but avoid drugs like ibuprofen and naproxen as they can cause kidney damage. If he has cough he might be suffering from infection of the lungs. Give ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice a day along with tylenol. If the fever still persists after 2 days, then you can consult your physician. Thanks
