What Causes Fever And Neck Pain In A Child While On Panadol?

hi my son is 11 years an he have a fever it is 39.3. Marcus is complaining of neck pain when I check about 2pm today it was on his right side. I give him panadol syrup now he is complaining the left side of his neck is paining an the fever is still high when i pass my hands on his neck i can feel a few bumps. He is asleep right now but he is talking all kinds of stuff what is the best thing to do for him until i can get him to a doctor in the morning...... sorry doctor i didnt know i had to pay i dont have any of the card i just wanted an answer to see if i could help my son from home until i could of get him to the hospital . Any way thanks for your time an keep up the good work .

Hi,

The fever can be due to infection and the most common organism causing it would be a virus, so great care need to be taken for high grade fever.

This can cause dehydration else it is nothing to worry. Only then again, it is advisable to take care is high grade fever. You can try an antipyretic like Acetaminophen along with cold sponging.
