Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fever, Headache And Ear Pain After Nasal Septal Button Removal?
I had a button in my nose due to a deviated septum. About a week ago itcame out, (surgery was about 8 yrs ago) and ever since button came out I have been feverish massive headache, head congestion, overall inability to function, ear ache, (I think I perforated drum)
You seem to have a hole in your nasal septum. A button is placed to close the hole in the septum if it is not closing by itself due to repeated infection. As the button has come out, it may be causing abnormal air circulation to sinuses and middle ear. An associated sinus infection may also trigger fever, ear infection.
My advice is it is better to consult an ENT specialist as soon as possible to get your nasal septum examined.
I hope this helps.
If you have any other queries, feel free to ask.
