What Causes Fever, Runny Nose, Swollen Glands, Back And Neck Ache, Headache?
Hello. On sunday, I began to feel like I had a temperature when I was out with my dad. I began to become very cold and had a runny nose. Later that night, I took my temperature and I had a 102.5 temperature. The next morning I woke up with a 102.6 temperature. Yesterday, I had a 99.1 temperature because I had taken motrine and tylenol. During these days I had a runny nose, swollen glands, a high temperature, and an aching in my back and neck. I went to the doctor and she had me take a strep test and I did not have strep. During the past 4 days I have also been having a HUGE headache. It is pounding and when I stand up it becomes extremely bad to the point that I cry but then it goes away after about 10 seconds. What is wrong with me? I found that when i push in my right gland (the headache is worse on the right side), the headache becomes more painful.

Viral upper respiratory tract infections such as the common cold or flu may be associated with headache, fever, nasal congestion, cough.
The presence of severe joint and muscle pain may indicate that it is more likely the flu rather than the common cold.
The treatment is mostly symptomatic. This means using medications to address the particular symptoms such as pain medication for the headache, decongestants for the nasal symptoms.
If the medication is not effective then you may need to see your doctor.
