What Causes Fever , Severe Cough And Chills?

Hello. I have a 5 year old daughter (will be 6 next month) who has had a fever ranging from 100-101 for nearly a week. Last night her temperature only read 100.3, but she was grinding her teeth badly all night. Her other symptoms are a sever cough & chills. The urgent care we went to several days ago said it was only a virus, but she has not gotten any better & the teeth grinding is new. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
Your daughter is suffering from infection which needs to be investigated.Cause could be
.viral fever
.typhoid
.malaria
.tonsillitis
.urinary tract infection
.respiratory tract infection
Grinding of teeth is called as bruxism which will go on its own.For severe cough you can ask your doctor for acerebrophylline and nebulisation with asthalin
Happy to help you
Best regards
