What Causes Fever, Vomiting And Loose Stools With Odor?
my son has been running a slight fever the past 2 days
He has been vomiting constantly. Just recently he also started with loose stools. The vomit and stools now smell fishy. When he is not feeling sick he says he feels good and is up watching TV. what could be the problem
The given history of fever could be due to viral infection, and it is better to wait for few days and let the course of the disease to be finished, meanwhile it is necessary to take care for hydration and high-grade fever. If the condition remains as it is then it needs to be ruled out for bacterial infection and for that patient may need some blood work, in pediatric age group febrile condition cannot be taken as granted, high fever can be managed with paracetamol (Temperature above 100 F) most of the time it is the viral fever and no need to worry about it but keep your eye open for high-grade fever.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
