Hi, my 23 mth old had a mild fever this afternoon 100.9 which went away with a dose of ibuprofen and he was fine all afternoon, playing, energetic, eating well. Then this evening his fever spiked again and he started shaking. I also noticed his skin looking mottled when I gave him his bath. And he was shaking after bath and felt cold. Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM,
Viral RTi is the usuall cause for such symptoms.
Antipyretics like paracetamol with proper dose and duration ,along with antihitaminic and decongestant drug will help in such situatuion.
Usually such symptoms take 3 to 4 days to respond.
Take care of the nutrition and hydration.
High grade fever should always be managed with tap water sponging.
Hope the query is answered.
Thanks
