What Causes Fever With Vomiting In Child?

Our 3 year old daughter has been puking in the morning for the past two days, today at 6:20 and yesterday at 4:00. It is mucous and slime, no food or yellowy stomach bile. She does not have a fever today but yesterday my husband said she was running at 101.7 however he gave her childrens ibproferen and the fever subsided. I am obviously going to take her to the doctor today but it's early and I'd sure like some insight.
