What Causes Flesh Like Clots During Periods?

I am getting flesh like clots in the bleeding during my periods? It s extended from 3 to 5 days for the past 3 months. I also have lower abdomen pain little bit at night and my stomach bulges before a week of periods and after that it s back to normal. Do I need to worry about this?

Hello,
Thanks for letting us know your health concern. I have gone through your query and would like to offer my opinion. This recent change in the menstrual pattern needs further evaluation by a specialist. Though it may not be a cause for much concern, infection, endometriosis etc. have to be excluded. A clinical exam, a sonogram of the pelvis preferably in the trans-vaginal route, urinalysis, vaginal swab and a pap smear are needed to help plan further management. Your age, reproductive history, medications and relevant family history are significant. Hope this helps.
