Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fluctuating Temperature, Diarrhea, Abdominal Cramping And Severe Headaches?
GI. N/V, diarrhea, abdominal cramping x 4 quadrants, chills/rigors, severe headaches, fluctuating (with admin. Ibuprofen and Tylenol)temp. 99-101-102.4 F for about 32-36 hours. Onset seemed to be sudden. Was at theme park in Chicago 2 days ago; around lots of people, ate at various places. No one else in our party is ill. My question: manage at home? See her pediatrician? Request medium(s) for stool testing? other? Thanks
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history and concerns. Chills with fever, diarrhea, cramping all over abdomen, eating at various places all indicate that the patient is suffering from infective enteritis. Should be taken to the Doctor Stool and blood tests done. Proper antibiotic coverage and probiotics, multivitamins, paracatamol and symptomatic treatment should be given. Maintain hydration and electrolyte balance.
